Realeather® Silver Edition Clutch Kit C4572
Looking for a fun and challenging custom project? Our Realeather® Silver Edition Leather Clutch Kit is a great project for the more advanced leathercrafter.
The kit comes with everything you need to start your project including genuine leather parts that are pre-cut to save time and money. This allows you to spend more time getting creative with a custom design rather than cutting leather. The included hardware and waxed thread have been coordinated to provide a standard look but can easily be changed out or customized to your specific design.
You will need a few tools to complete the kit including: craft knife, leather punches, diamond or thonging chisels (to make holes for hand stitching), poly mallet or maul, poly board, leathercraft or rubber cement and a sturdy work surface.
If you don’t want to do the stitching by hand, you can always use a sewing machine that is capable of sewing leather! If you choose to use a sewing machine, follow the machine’s manufacturer instructions for sewing leather.
Some other optional tools you may want to use to help with the stitching process are the stitching pony or stitching groover. If you plan to transfer patterns to the clutch, vellum may also be useful. While these are not required to complete the kit, they may help in completing your custom clutch.
Personalize Your Envelope Clutch
There are many ways to personalize your clutch purse. Adding color is a simple way to do this. Before assembly, tool a design & add color. The new Realeather® Leather Dye Pens make it easy and mess free to add color to your clutch! These dye pens come in a wide range of colors and each dye pen has two tips: a brush tip for brushing and blending colors and a fine tip for intricate details.
Another way to make your clutch unique is to replace the included wax thread with one of the Realeather® colored wax thread options or calf lace. This is a simple way to add some extra color and personality to your design.
Don’t like hand stitching or machine sewing? Try double-capped rivets for a modern design. You can also embellish your clutch with conchos or replace the wrist strap with a DIY Fringe Tassel Clip.
